Here is a look at how far your money will go.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Nursing Home Costs<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The average hospital stay in Atlanta is over $6,000 per day. No one wants to remain in the hospital. It&#8217;s costly, uncomfortable, and depressing. Unfortunately, if you require extensive medical care a nursing home or rehabilitation facility may be unavoidable without a full-time caregiver.<\/p>\n<p>Nursing homes are<span>&nbsp;<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aaltci.org\/cities\/atlanta-long-term-care-insurance.php\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">about $150 a day<\/a><\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span>for a semi-private room and $175 a day for a private room. Insurance may cover the costs, but only if you are medically needed and have limited assets. The lowest assisted living facility in Atlanta is $1,400 a month, and the highest is $4,350 a month. The average price is $2,800 per month. The cost includes care and all meals. The national average for a one-bedroom assisted living facility is significantly higher at $3,500 a month.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Home Care Costs<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s natural to want to remain in your home for as long as possible. The baby boomer generation is especially intent on avoiding nursing homes and assisted living facilities. An alternative is in-home care. Caregivers assist with daily living activities like bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, housekeeping, meal preparation. They can even assist with laundry and transportation.
