How much does the service cost?

Our Old Town Alexandria in-home care services are billed at a flat hourly rate regardless of the type of services required. We will consult with you to determine which services are needed.

Does insurance cover the cost of your services?

Long-term care insurance and the VA’s Aid and Attendance program can be used to pay for home care services. If you need help with the prequalification process for the VA benefit, our staff can assist you. Major health insurance providers do not cover home care. While Medicaid does cover specific care services in certain cases, not all Caring Senior Service offices currently accept Medicaid. Medicare’s GUIDE Model may offer resources for individuals with dementia and their family caregivers. Ask us for details.

Caring Senior Service stood out because they were able to match us with caregivers who understood and could meet my father's needs as an aging senior living with dementia.

We initially needed only about 15 hours of care per week. However, when my mother suffered a fall and tore her rotator cuff, Caring Senior Service quickly arranged caregivers to provide 24/7 support. Their responsiveness during such a difficult time was invaluable.

Our care coordinator, Kyano, was always accessible as our needs evolved and even stepped in to cover shifts himself when necessary. Our caregivers—Mushin, Gilbert, and Richard—treated my father like family and consistently showed him and my mother kindness, patience, and respect.

As my father's condition progressed, we ultimately made the difficult decision to move him into a memory care community. While we knew it was the right time, saying goodbye to our care team was not easy because they had become like family to us.
