Caroline and Evi’s story is a perfect example of how Caring Senior Service truly makes life simpler for families.
When Caroline’s twin sister moved into a nursing home, Caroline, who has mild dementia, was left living alone. Her nephew, Matt, knew he needed support to ensure she remained safe, cared for, and able to continue enjoying life at home. Through a family friend, he received Caring Senior Service’s phone number and reached out to us.
When Matt first called, he told us he only needed temporary help with cleaning and organizing for a few weeks. After navigating the intake process, Caroline was quickly assigned a new caregiver: Evi Hopt.
With Evi’s bright, compassionate personality and incredible attention to detail, they were able to organize and declutter the home, schedule doctor appointments, and create a smooth routine for Caroline’s daily needs. And now, nearly a year later, Caregiver Evi is still walking alongside Caroline as she navigates the loss of her sister and adjusts to her new reality.
Whether it’s arranging a haircut, picking up prescriptions, or handling everyday tasks, Matt knows it only takes a simple phone call for things to get done. Evi goes above and beyond by making grocery lists, encouraging Caroline to get up and move around, and helping her get out and enjoy life.
Matt is incredibly thankful for Caring Senior Service, because he trusts our staff and caregivers completely. Instead of constantly worrying about caregiving responsibilities, he gets to focus on simply being Caroline’s nephew again.
As for Caroline, she loves watching game shows, bird watching, and trying new recipes as a self-proclaimed at-home food critic. Because of the support and companionship she receives, Caroline is not just living, she is thriving.
