What do your services include?

Our caregivers assist clients with a range of tasks, promoting their independence.

PERSONAL CARE: Sometimes seniors need a little help managing their personal care needs. Our caregivers provide assistance with exercise, dressing, hygiene, and more.
TRANSPORTATION: We help seniors maintain their freedom and independence. Our caregivers can take them to appointments, the grocery store, and other places.
MEAL PREPARATION: Our caregivers can create a tasty meal while adhering to nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
MEDICATION REMINDERS: Our caregivers provide medication reminders to help seniors stay on schedule and ensure they’re taking the right dose.
COMPANIONSHIP: The last thing we want is for seniors to feel lonely. We provide social interaction that includes games, shopping, taking walks, and more.
RESPITE CARE: When family caregivers need a rest for themselves, they can take advantage of the break our respite care services provide.
ERRAND SERVICE: We offer errand services for our seniors who need help picking up prescriptions, mailing items, dropping off gifts, and more.
LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING: When seniors need help with simple household chores, our caregivers will gladly lend a hand. We can change linens, do the dishes, dust, and more.
FAMILY PORTAL: We provide our clients with open communication to enhance family support. Each client receives a tablet with access to our Family Portal.
HOME SAFETY ASSESSMENT: Our 43-point safety assessment identifies hazards in the home to prevent injury and maintain a safe environment.

How much does the service cost?

We charge an hourly, flat rate no matter what services are required. We work with you and your loved one to conduct a full assessment to determine the hours required in properly assisting your loved one.

Does insurance cover the cost of your services?

Long-term care insurance covers our service. Most medical insurances do not provide coverage for our service. The VA offers an Aide & Attendant program, but certain restrictions apply. Our office staff can assist with pre-qualification for this VA benefit. Medicaid may cover some services, but most of our offices do not currently accept Medicaid. Medicare’s GUIDE Model may offer resources for individuals with dementia and their family caregivers. Ask us for details.

  The care they provided to my grandfather was the best I have ever witnessed. Working in healthcare myself I was afraid he wouldn't get the care he deserved. Every caregiver that came into the house not only treated him like family but everyone else like that to.   Caring Senior Service in Galesburg is great! All of the workers have been so friendly, patient , and kind with my dad. Recently, Fawn took him to a Dr appt and made sure he was well taken care of and even took him by a restaurant so he could get something good to eat since  he doesn’t drive anymore.   Caring Senior Service came through for me and my family at one of the most difficult times in our lives.  My aunt went home on Hospice during C-vid and needed a lot of care.  I was able to move in with her and my uncle to help out but also needed to sleep and work some.  She needed company because her sleep cycle was all messed up, and she needed help when we were sleeping.  Katy and some of the CSS staff helped fill in the gaps and they were so gracious and accommodating when my schedule would change.  They care about their clients and their staff and it shows.  We are still working with CSS to help care for my uncle. My aunt passed in 2021 and my uncle was lost without her.  His main caregiver, Deb has been with him since 2020 and he adores her.  We are so thankful for CSS.  Katy has been a great director for this company and she has a very special team of dedicated staff.  I give them 10/10!

  Caring Senior Service is truly a cut above the rest. Working in nonprofit, I’ve seen all kinds of people step up to “help” — often with motives tied to publicity or clout. Too many are “one and done” once the photo op is over. That’s what makes Caring Senior Service stand out. Their leadership and staff are genuine in every sense — true altruists, if ever there were such a thing. They’ve thrown themselves headlong into our Dementia Friendly Galesburg initiative and have already proven to be an invaluable ally as we work to acknowledge, enlighten, and educate our community about Alzheimer’s and dementia. I’m grateful to collaborate alongside such a dedicated team who lead with both their hearts and their heads. Katy, in particular, does an amazing job. I can only imagine the demands of being on call and ever-present, yet she meets it all with a smile and a kind word — more than most could manage. Kudos to Caring Senior Service. May you continue your mission of supporting independence and helping every senior you touch to thrive in their own homes.
